SHBC Jam Session
Every gig starts with a blues jam session, from 3pm. The session goes to 5:30pm when we clear the stage for our feature artist.
Musicians of any level are welcome to join in – just bring your instrument. Drums, amps and mics are supplied.

SHBC has charted some blues standards as a reference (check out our Songbook here). Jammers might find it helpful to be familiar with some of these songs in case they come up. The Jam isn't moderated - you can play anything as long as it's blues (or a close relation).

BLUES JAM SESSION
Our first Jam Only day last year was such a success we wanted to run it again. This is a special extra show in August and will be a Jam Session Only – no feature artist. No raffle. Lions club BBQ as usual. Normal start time (3pm). Early finish sometime between 6pm & 7pm depending on jammers.
If you would like to be part of the jam day, why not get some friends together and start rehearsing a few tunes? Don’t know any other musos? No problem. Just turn up on the day and the Jam Coordinator will slot you in with others.

HEY GRINGO
Daryl Roberts & Hey Gringo have performed across Oz and internationally for over 30 years with their fun tongue in cheek, catchy blues, funky soul and roots music with choice favourites to get the audience involved in the vibe. Hey Gringo has released 8 albums of original songs which have charted up to # 1 on The Oz Blues & Roots Airplay Charts.
Daryl also plays keyboard with Oz legends Spectrum, performed and written songs with renown Oz legends Ross Wilson (Daddy Cool/Modo Rock), American Blues Legend Jimmy Witherspoon and performed internationally from Amsterdam to New Orleans and Tokyo to Clarkesdale Mississippi. Over the years guests on Hey Gringo albums and on stage have included such notable musicians as Nicky Bomba(John Butler Trio), Ross Hannaford & Ross Wilson (Daddy Cool/Mondo Rock), Paul Gildea(Icehouse), Shannon Bourne, Geoff Achison, Mick Elliot(SidRumpo) Broderick Smith(Dingoes) Neale Johns( Blackfeather) Mike Rudd, Bill Putt & Peter Robertson(Spectrum), Kerri Simpson, Kevin Borich, Paul Gadsby(Paul Kelly/Colin Hay), Wayne Burt, Glyn Mason(Home/Ariel/Chain) amongst a host of others.
